MEET TABITHA

Tabitha Hatcher, Primary Therapist

Tabitha obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Holy Family University in 2012. After graduating, she worked as a Therapeutic Staff Support and a Respite Care Provider. During this time, Tabitha learned how to implement interventions from treatment plans. She received her Master of Science with a Specialization in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) from Drexel University in 2020. Since graduation, Tabitha has honed her therapy skills as a therapist for Elwyn.

Tabitha utilizes a variety of evidence-based therapeutic practices with her clientele, including, but not limited to: Talk Therapy, Art Therapy, and Cognitive Behavior Therapy.  She utilizes various ways to help children express their emotions appropriately and control impulses, including breathing techniques, identifying triggers, and “Pause before acting,” to name a few. Tabitha specializes in working with children with ADHD, Depression and Generalized Anxiety Disorder. She works with adolescents and young adults that are struggling with depression, emotion regulation, and difficulty with impulse control. Tabitha prides herself in maintaining a fun learning environment for her clients. For younger clients with difficulty sitting still, Tabitha has allowed movement breaks that help children get “their wiggles out.” Communication with family is imperative for continuity of care. As an ABA trained therapist, Tabitha listens to the concerns shared by the family then draws from her ABA training to ensure parents are presented with interventions that will help the children and family see results with behavior management.
